St. Louis Rams 2010 Preseason Schedule

The NFL released the 2010 preseason schedule today. Dates and times of the games have yet to be determined. Rams fans will get to see the Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens at the Edward Jones Dome. This will be the first time in a long time that the Rams will not play the Kansas City Chiefs in the preseason and I for one am very happy about that. The Rams will not take part in any of the 11 nationally televised games which is no surprise since they went 1-15 in 2009. The 2010 NFL preseason will get under way when the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Dallas Cowboys on August 8th in the Hall of Fame Game.

Week 1 - Minnesota at St. Louis
Week 2 - St. Louis at Cleveland
Week 3 - St. Louis at New England
Week 4 - Baltimore at St. Louis

Biggest Day In St. Louis Rams History

The offseason is the time to be optimistic and over the top so I am going to start
with the following statement; tomorrow could be the biggest day in St. Louis Rams history since February 3, 2002 when Adam Vinatieri made the game-winning 48-yard field goal as time expired in Super Bowl XXXVI. That's right I will say it, Sam Bradford's Pro Day workout on Monday March 29th could go down as a huge day in Rams history.

On his Pro Day Sam Bradford will throw for NFL team scouts and executives in Norman Oklahoma on Monday at 11AM. Sam will perform only throwing drills, no running or lifting will be included. The Rams recently met with Bradford in Florida and will take a very close look at him on Monday. All eyes will be on Bradford's surgically repaired throwing shoulder which cost him most of his season.

Sam Bradford is best known for his accuracy. Bradford now at 6'4" and 235 pounds completed almost 68 percent of his passes while at Oklahoma for 88 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Bradford's accuracy and velocity on Monday could be worth millions. Experts have it 50/50 on the St. Louis Rams drafting either Sam Bradford or Ndamukong Suh with the first overall pick on April 22nd in the 2010 NFL Draft.

ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay says the top pick in this year's draft is Bradford's to lose

CBS - A good day from Bradford, and it makes sense for a team that needs both a face of the franchise and a legitimate starting quarterback to go with it to make Bradford the No. 1 choice

Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post agrees that the Rams will draft Sam Bradford with the first overall pick in next month's draft as long as his pro day goes well on Monday.

Fans as well seem to have Bradford and Suh in an ongoing toss up. People point to Bradford as an injury risk coming off shoulder surgery. This is just a case of what have you done for me lately. Ndamukong Suh also had season ending knee surgery back in 2005 but that is no longer mentioned. If the best doctors in the country say Bradford is fine than he is fine. Anyone can be hurt on any play in the NFL.

As a fan I want to see the franchise quarterback selected. I don't want to continue to watch the Rams average a pitiful 10.9 points per game. The New Orleans Saints led the league with 510 points scored and went on to win the Super Bowl. Back in 1999 the St. Louis Rams led the NFL in scoring and went on to win Super Bowl XXXIV. Give me the stud QB. Bradford has all the tools, he scored 36 on the Wonderlic test, has great size and athletic ability, and has deadly accuracy.

The Rams last three first round draft picks were Adam Carriker, Chris Long, and Jason Smith, so far we have received basically no production from these players. I do not understand the fear people talk about with picking Sam Bradford #1 overall. Teams draft players every year that do not pan out, don't be afraid just select the right players. I believe Sam Bradford is the right player.

St. Louis Rams Need A QB

I would like to thank MrTrojanRam for posting a funny yet disturbing video of Rams quarterback low-lights from the 2009 season. If anything screams Sam Bradford this video certainly does. Take a look and you will remember just how bad the Rams were in 2009. 6-42 in their last 48 games will a good/great defensive tackle change that?

McNabb To Rams Rumors Fly

Rumors continue to fly that not only are Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles shopping all three of their QBs, but some have said the Rams have made an offer for Donovan McNabb. The latest of the rumors has McNabb coming to the Rams for the Rams #33 pick in the upcoming 2010 NFL draft and Safety Oshiomogho Atogwe. Rams GM Billy Devaney has said these rumors are absolutely false. The Eagles have basically just been saying no comment. However these are the same Eagles that were never talking to Michael Vick yet signed him to a contract shortly after saying they were not even talking to Vick. Who can be trusted in the NFL, nobody. As with many pre draft rumors most are false, but just ponder what is better the McNabb / Suh combination or Sam Bradford and X? The Rams have basically cleaned house so it is time to move on. I would love to see Donovan McNabb in a Rams uniform but you have to build your football team and Sam Bradford is the building block we need.

Is There A New Fossil Sherriff In Town?

As a St. Louis Rams fan it was very upsetting to watch Scott Linehan sign one FOSL (friends of Scott Linehan) after another. Well don't look now but there is a new fossil collector in town and his name is Steve Spagnuolo. Spagnuolo has signed 3 ex-Giants players so far during free agency. In addition his first pick up last year was S James Butler another New York Giant. That would be bad enough but let's not forget the time Steve Spagnuolo spent with the Philadelphia Eagles. Since the start of the 2009 NFL season the Rams have also gathered in Danny Amendola, Brandon Gibson and Hank Fraley all from the Eagles organization. Are the St. Louis Rams collecting talent and improving their roster or just gathering fossils?

Do St. Louis Rams Have A Poker Face?

The question is do the St. Louis Rams have a poker face? Sure the Rams signed free agent QB A.J. Feeley known for his solid backup play and teaching ability. Does this point to the clear fact that the Rams are going to draft Sam Bradford and play Feeley while Bradford prepares to take the reins? The Rams also signed 10 year veteran DT Fred Robbins. Will the Rams actually play Robbins at DT in a rotation with Clifton Ryan, Darell Scott and Adam Carriker or is he there to teach Ndamukong Suh a thing or two about the NFL? The big question is have the Rams improved their draft status with these moves or do other teams see through the Rams poker face? I still believe they are going to draft Sam Bradford first overall.

St. Louis Rams Sign CB Kevin Dockery

The St. Louis Rams signed cornerback Kevin Dockery on Monday. Dockery made 25 tackles in 2009 while playing in 11 games for the Giants. The Rams who claim to want bigger, stronger, faster players have signed another undersized player in Dockery who is 5'8" and 190 pounds. Dockery has 149 tackles and 3 interceptions in his NFL career. Dockery was not tendered an offer by the Giants where he was viewed at best their 4th cornerback on the depth chart. I guess the Rams can at least say they are spending money, but I am not sure what they are getting for it.

St. Louis Rams Sign TE Darcy Johnson

The St. Louis Rams signed 6'5" Tight end Darcy Johnson on Monday. Steve Spagnuolo has signed yet another ex-Giant. Three of the five free agents the Rams have signed are ex-Giants and don't forget James Hall from last year. In addition Hank Fraley played for the Eagles while Spagnuolo was on the coaching staff there. Johnson had 5 catches for 32 yards last year for the Giants while playing in 13 games. During his three year career Johnson has only 9 catches for 78 yards. Good thing we landed Johnson before he was caught by another team dreaming about catching a backup of a backup for their TE position.

Evan Silva Says Sam Bradford To Rams

I know everyday more and more mock drafts are being created. I have yet to create one, but will soon. Today Evan Silva has posted his on profootballtalk, and once again we have another vote for Sam Bradford. Silva says:

1. Rams: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
Bradford's athleticism, smarts, and accuracy make for an ideal match in Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur's West Coast system. Marc Bulger will likely be released after the draft.

Who do you think the St. Louis Rams will draft with the first pick in the 2010 NFL Draft? Please cast your vote on our poll.

St. Louis Rams Sign DE James Hall

Monday the St. Louis Rams signed defensive end James Hall back as a free agent. James Hall stated that Steve Spagnuolo was a big reason that he wanted to come back to the Rams in addition to some family decisions. Word was that the New Orleans Saints were also interested in signing Hall. At 33 Hall is getting a little long in the tooth but was one of the Rams better defensive players in 2009. Hall played in 14 games in 2009 and recorded 4.5 sacks. With the peobable loss of Leonard Little the Rams need to make sure they have enough warm bodies. Hopefully Hall will stay healthy and provide the Rams with some much need pass rush in 2010.

Rams Receive One Compensatory Draft Pick

Just when you thought having Mr. Irrelevant (David Vobara) was enough to put the St. Louis Rams over the top, the NFL has now given the Rams an additional draft pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. The Rams have received pick #254 as a compensatory pick in the upcoming draft. This year there will be a total of 255 draft picks with the Detroit Lions receiving pick #255. Can the Rams find a diamond in the rough at #254?

St. Louis Rams Sign Center Hank Fraley

The St. Louis Rams continued with their "so what" free agent signings, by adding 32 year old center Hank Fraley to their roster. Fraley was the back up center in 2009 for the Cleveland Browns, starting only four games. Fraley has been very durable for an interior lineman starting 123 games of the 135 that he has played in over his 10 year career. Steve Spagnuolo again has ties to this free agent pickup. Coach Spagnuolo was with the Philadelphia Eagles while Fraley was playing in Philadelphia. First we had the FOSL's with Scott Linehan, then ex-Saints players coming to town for Jim Haslett and now Spagnuolo continues to focus on Eagles and Giants retreads. Sure their may be an advantage to knowing these players or having a relationship with them but are they the top players to help the St. Louis Rams in 2010?
