Rams release cornerback Walls from AP

ST. LOUIS - Cornerback Lenny Walls, who struggled in three starts while the St. Louis Rams were short-handed due to injuries, was released Friday.
The Rams needed a roster spot when defensive tackle Claude Wroten was reinstated following a four-game drug suspension.
Walls was burned for two touchdown passes in a 35-7 loss at Dallas two weeks ago, his last start. He was a backup last week in a 34-31 loss to the Cardinals after Fakhir Brown returned from a drug suspension.
The other starting cornerback, Tye Hill, is expected back for Sunday's game in Baltimore after missing four games with a lower back injury. Walls had little value to the team on special teams, which factored into the move.
"It was a tough decision," coach Scott Linehan said. "I really like Lenny. It's just based on where he was going to be on the roster."
