St. Louis Rams Sign Center Jason Brown
The St. Louis Rams have signed Baltimore Ravens free agent center Jason Brown to a five year deal. This makes the second round of the upcoming 2009 NFL Draft very interesting for the Rams. I thought a great pick would be Center Max Unger from Oregon or Alex Mack from California, now the Rams will turn in a new direction. Hopefully Jason Brown will produce more than the Rams big free agent pick up Jacob Bell did in 2008. Steve Spagnuolo has said that he would like to see the Rams get larger along both lines. Jason Brown is a very large 6-3 320 pound center, from a physical Baltimore Ravens franchise. Brown was the Baltimore Ravens 4th round selection in the 2005 NFL Draft. Brown has started every game for the Ravens over the last two years, and in addition is only 25 years old. On the surface this seems like a good move by the Rams. Also for all of the doubting Thomas's out there this proves a player will leave an 11-5 team to come to a 2-14 team. It is simple it is called money. Brett Romberg and Nick Leckey have played rotating chairs with the current Rams starting center job. Both are older and smaller than Brown. Here is to hoping the Rams are going to build a powerful NFC East type of offensive line. What are your thoughts on this signing?
